Emergency Information

Emergency, closing and cancellation information will be posted on this site as soon as possible. Information will also be sent to parents via the division's telephone notification and e-mail notification systems. If an event is school specific, only parents with children at that school will be notified.

Over the course of a school year, several drills are conducted at each division school, including fire, tornado, intruder and lock-down drills. These drills help prepare students and staff in the event of a true emergency.

Additionally, each school regularly reviews and updates their school safety plans. These plans include specific information about the different crisis situations that could occur in a school. The plans also include procedures for ensuring students and staff have access to counselors, if needed, after a crisis has occurred.

During an emergency, parents are encouraged to obtain important information and directions prior to going to a school. If needed, students will be transported to an alternate pick-up location and parents will be provided with directions via our notification systems. Please remember that before a child will be released to a parent/guardian in an emergency situation, proper identification will be required.

To ensure that you will receive notification in the event of an emergency, please ensure that your contact information is current. If you need to update your information, please contact your child's school.
