Welcome to Bruton High School
Administration

We are really excited about this school year.  A new school year presents opportunities for various beginnings – new classes, new faces, new courses, and often new materials.  Summer and vacation can be great refreshers of enthusiasm and interests.  As we approach the opening day of a new school year, we are eager to promote education and excellence.

We are proud of what was achieved last year in the classrooms, on the playing fields and stage, but our achievements are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo.  Our program is what it is because a staff of dedicated, aspiring men and women have a common goal - to do what is best for students - and are always looking for ways to achieve that goal.

This year, as in the past, we will concentrate on the processes that spur continuing advancement: evaluating what we have, determining what we can do to improve, and identifying what we need to make those improvements.

We are pleased to have you as partners this educational year.  As the year progresses and as you become more informed, we encourage you to call the school to talk with those who might be of assistance.  If your question deals with in-class events, please ask to speak with the teacher.  If it deals with the overall program, curriculum, or activities, please contact the main office or guidance directly.

You will also want to look at the Student Handbook and Student Conduct Code that will be given to each student the first week of school.  It does a good job of explaining a typical year at our school.  By reading it, you will have a better idea of what to expect.

We look forward to working with you!

Welcome

Bruton High School plans for a successful school year for each student. We believe what students gain from their high school experience is determined by their efforts and their willingness to become an active member of the school, taking part in school activities, and contributing to the many programs and events that make up Bruton High School.

Mission Statement

The Bruton staff strives to help each student develop the skills and knowledge required of productive members of society through:

  • Emphasizing studies in language, mathematics, science, social studies, the fine arts, physical education and vocational education.
  • Providing a focus on student achievement through appropriate classroom instruction.
  • Promoting positive concepts of oneself and others.
  • Encouraging a respect for the democratic process, including the worth of each individual and the rights of the group.
  • Supporting student involvement in school programs and activities.

Students, parents, and teachers share in the responsibility of achieving these goals. Students with the attitude that the 'future is now, sieze the opportunity' have a much better chance of success. Our school welcomes you and urges you to foster the spirit that has made Bruton outstanding.
