The following formula will be used for computing grade point averages:

            Sum of Quality Points +            Sum of Weighted Course Credits Attempted = Grade Point Average
      Number of Credits Attempted                             7X

Where:  7 represents the number of periods in a regular school day
            X represents the unit of time in high school:
                        1 = quarters, semesters, end of 9th grade
                        2 = end of 10th grade, cumulative;
                        3 = end of 11th grade, cumulative;
                        4 = end of 12th grade, cumulative.

Semester increments award one-half weight because course is one-half completed.
