2008 Summer School Information
Block Rotation Schedule Sem2 Shows Exam dates

School offices will be open for business 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the summer vacation period.  


Registration for 2008-2009

Counselors have finalized course selections.

Students interested in dual enrollment should see their counselors for necessary information. Students currently enrolled need to be sure they have taken the placement test. TNCC will come to BHS on June 4th at 7:30 AM to administer the placement test. Students signing up for next year have until July to take the test. You must go to the TNCC campus to take the test if you do not take it at BHS on June 4th.

Juniors – Timeline for College Search and Admission

  • Request information from colleges
  • Take the SAT and/or ACT
  • Plan for summer visits to colleges
  • Athletes – sign up with NCAA eligibility center
  • Research scholarship opportunities
  • Discuss college finances with your parents
  • Summer plans – work, volunteer, class
  • Begin preparing essays and resume

Seniors –

If you are headed off to college, here are some final items to consider:

  • Visit the schools that accepted you
  • Make your final decision
  • Notify in writing, all schools of your choice
  • If wait-listed contact the admissions office if still interested
  • Request final transcript from guidance by bringing in a stamped addressed envelope with your name on the inside flap (no return address)
  • Follow the college’s procedure for college housing and orientation
  • Athletes request final transcript for NCAA eligibility center
  • Check banking options in your college’s town
  • Notify colleges of any private scholarship awards
  • Compare aid and scholarship packages
  • Meet all financial aid requirements and deadlines
  • Contact the financial aid office if you have any special circumstances
  • Analyze project first-year college budget

Seniors' 'End of the Year' activities are available from every teacher and staff member.

Final transcripts to Colleges Bring a stamped addressed envelope to guidance with the student's name under the flap to guidance. Final transcripts will be mailed after graduation.

The 2008 Regional College Fair will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
