Your School Counselor
Hello.
I am the school counselor at
I
provide a developmentally-based comprehensive school counseling program
to
students in grades K-5. The counseling
and guidance services that I provide include: classroom guidance
lessons, group
counseling, individual counseling, crisis counseling, consultation with
teachers, parents, and outside agencies, Student Assistance Plan case
management, and mentoring program coordination.

Lunch Bunch
(Deployment Group)
The Lunch Bunch Group is a group that was
created to
offer support for students whose parent or stepparent is away for one
month or
longer. During the group meetings the
students eat lunch, share feelings and ideas, and complete activities. It is an opportunity for children to feel
connected to others who are experiencing similar occurrences in their
lives.

New Student Group
New students are offered the opportunity to
attend a
new student group. This brief group
allows new students to become acquainted with other new students and
the school
counselor. The goal of the group is to
assist students with their transition to BMES.

Anger Management
Anger Management groups are offered to assist
students in developing anger control skills.
Through a series of activities, the students learn the
following; anger
is an emotion, safe ways of expressing anger, methods to identify
anger-provoking situations.

Academic Success
Group
The Academic Success Group is a group created
to
help and encourage students to achieve in school. The
students learn such things as test taking
strategies, organization skills, and positive attitude development.

Children of Divorce
Group
The Children of Divorce Group is a group that
offers
support to students who have experienced parental separation or divorce.
·
Friendship Group
The Friendship Group is a group that focuses
on
assisting students in developing social interaction skills, maintaining
peer
relationships, and making friends.
