We are excited about a new year and look forward to getting to know you and your child. We hope that this information will be helpful to you as you plan for the upcoming school year.

All of our students will receive an agenda, an assignment/communication book, to help students stay organized and to communicate important information to parents. Please check your child's agenda daily as this will indicate nightly homework assignments and upcoming quizzes and tests. In addition, we send home weekly work folders with student papers in them. Please sign and return this folder within two days. We hope that this will help you be aware of what your child is learning and their progress.

One of the important concepts we teach is getting along with each other. This includes respecting each other's thoughts, space and property.

We use technology in a variety of ways in the classroom. Besides being integrated into all of our subjects, we use technology to learn about our own state's history in order to prepare for the history SOL test in May.

Students should set aside some time at home each week to do outside reading for AR and Book-It. In addition, students should continue studying multiplication tables 1-12 for both accuracy and speed.

We look forward to your being a part of our team. Together we will make this an outstanding year.
