SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH
The York County School Division Superintendent, Steven R. Staples, Ed.D., has announced his retirement effective July 1, 2008. The York County School Board has developed the following timeline for the superintendent search to fill the anticipated vacancy:
- Dec. 4, 2007 -- Commence Community Survey for citizen input.
- Jan. 7, 2008 -- Public Hearing for citizen input. (7 p.m., York Hall) - Survey closed at 7 p.m.
- Feb. – March 14, 2008 -- Receive applications.
- April – May 2008 -- Interviews with candidates.
- June 2008 -- Announce School Board-selected candidate.
