Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

We would like to welcome you to Queens Lake Middle School! The teachers and staff of QLMS are looking forward to working with you during the 2007-2008 school year.

One of the keys to a successful year in any grade level will be the student’s organization of assignments and materials. Listed below are materials needed for sixth grade.

6^th Grade Individual Supplies

Six 2 pocket folders with 3 hold fasteners (PLAIN colors, no designs, please!)

One plain, large (3”) 3 ring binder

Subject dividers for binder

One black and white composition notebook

Three single subject spiral notebooks

Daily supply of plastic sheet protectors for individual papers in notebooks

Daily supply of loose leaf paper

Daily supply of sharpened pencils and pens (black or blue and red only!)

Daily supply of glue sticks

One highlighter

One standard/metric ruler

Small individual pencil sharpener

One pencil case or zipped bag for supplies

Three book covers (extra large size)

Small post-it notes (1 ½ x 2 inches) any color

Agenda – Can be bought at School

Classroom Supplies (will be collected and kept in homeroom)

Two or more boxes of tissues

One box of 24 colored pencils

One pack of 3x5 index cards with lines

Two large dry erase markers

Recommended Optional Supplies

A four function calculator

Thumb/Flash drive

Recommended: Locker Shelves (note locker size below) or canvas Locker Works (sold by PTA in September)

Book bag or back pack (please note the rolling kind will not fit in lockers)

Additional note:

Please keep in mind that school lockers are very tall and narrow. They measure 8 ½”wide by 9” deep. As a result, rolling back packs and Trapper Keepers will not fit inside.
