Troop # 1325 thanks TES for 5 years

Troop 1325 donated a bench to TES's new learning garden

as a thank-you for letting the troop use the school for meetings for the past five years.

Girl Scout Project
Troop 1325

These fifth grade girls have been working on earning their Bronze Award.  They decided to donate the majority of their community service hours to Tabb Elementary School this year because TES has given us the opportunity to meet at the school for the last 5 years.  It is our way of saying thank you.  So, prior to school beginning, we spent approximately 60 combined man-hours painting a map of the United States of America on the school blacktop.  We noted each of the state capitals with a star.  Several map activities were provided to the staff of TES so that the teachers can play games with the kids to enhance their knowledge of SOL material.  We completed the project just in time for school to begin!  The girls were amazed at how big Alaska was when we painted it to scale with the USA.  It was a fun and rewarding project for all of us to "give back" to the staff and students at Tabb Elementary School and to leave something that we can be proud of for years to come.
