In support of a documentary, the Misunderstood Minds' Web site contains
profiles of the students in the documentary, as well as sections on
attention,
reading, writing, and mathematics. A neat part of this website is the
interactive feature entitled Firsthand that provides a sense of what it
may be
like for a student struggling with a learning disability.
LD OnLine web site
Comprehensive web site on learning disabilities for parents, educators,
and
kids. Features include information on LD/ADHD, resources (books,
videos),
conferences/events, personal essays, students' art and stories,
bulletin board,
chat room, "Ask the Expert," searches by author, and "talk
back" survey.
SchwabLearning
A site dedicated to helping kids and families of kids with learning
differences
be successful in learning and life. This site features over 200
articles on LD,
a free email newsletter, bulletin boards, free publication downloads,
resources, polls, and more!
Learning Disabilities
Association
Web site for the national Learning Disabilities Association whose
primary
audience is families of individuals with LD, but professionals also
comprise a
portion of the membership.
International Dyslexia
Association
Formerly the Orton Dyslexia
Society, the International Dyslexia Society is
probably the most interdisciplinary organization related to LD and much
of
their focus has been on reading. Other topics
are included as well.
