This course provides the opportunity for students to examine and explore both craft traditions from a variety of selected cultures and work that is currently produded by professional artists. By incorporating knowledge of indigenous art forms, along with various techniques, we will develop individual pieces of art that are typical of a variety of different cultures. Students will work with a diversity of materials in both two and three-dimensional art forms that may or may not include: stained glass; batik, papier mache', weaving, metal embossing, tapestry, ceramics and printmaking.
