Started in 1988 with the purpose to serve as an avenue for all students to study, embrace, and understand the wonderful heritage of Black Americans. The sponsors were Mrs. Janie King, Mr. Russell Hopson and the late Mrs. Johnnie Little. Mrs. Little’s daughter, Andrea, was very instrumental in helping to form the club. She was concerned about the apparent lack of black participation in school activities.
