Course Offerings
7300 Health and Physical Education
In this course, health units include the study of
disease, consumer and environmental health issues, first
aid, and Family Life Education. Physical education units
include instruction and physical fitness and
conditioning, individual and dual sports, and team
sports.
Grade 9
1 credit/year
7301 Health and Physical Education/Naval Science
In this course for 9th graders enrolled in the NJROTC
program, health units include the study of disease,
consumer and environmental health issues, first aid, and
Family Life Education. Physical education units include
instruction in physical fitness, conditioning, and
sports. This course includes a study of the basic naval
organization, the operating forces of the Navy, and naval
history from the early beginning in colonial days to the
commencement of World War II. Topics include an
introduction to the basics of navigation, seamanship, and
boat handling. Students also study leadership skills and
behavioral sciences. Infantry drill sessions are also
utilized to develop student leadership skills. Note:
enrollment in this course fulfills the Health and PE
requirement for NJROTC students.
Grade 9
1 credit/year
7405 Health, Driver Education and Physical Education
This course is divided among classroom health,
classroom driver education, and physical education. The
health curriculum includes Family Life Education. The
physical education curriculum includes the study of
physical fitness, individual and dual sports, and team
sports. Driver education focuses on classroom
instruction.
