Assignments and Grading Policies

Our curriculum is designed so that all students can be successful. Assessments are made on written assignments and hands on projects including a student self-evaluation. Grades are averaged as follows:

Student work is turned in every 4 days for 6th grade wheel classes and every 5 days for students in Teen Living A and B classes. Class assignments may be kept in the student’s personal "mail box" located in the classroom or in their own binders until the turn in day. Personal responsibility for their work is one of the goals of the class.

Extra help is available after school. Students should notify their parents and teachers when making plans to stay.

Communication

Parents are encouraged to maintain contact with our class. While the interim report issued by the school system is the official vehicle for updating parents on student progress, additional information regarding our class is available by contacting the school at 898-0320 or email at mballard@ycsd.york.va.us
