Extra Credit
As technology education is a new
subject to most students, not everyone may be as successful at the
tasks and projects as they desire. Also some people are not
always good test
takers. To accommodate these students and to ensure success, a
student may accomplish extra credit. Normally, up to 10 points
may
be earned and applied to any daily work or test grade the student
desires, except quarter and/or semester tests. Extra credit
consists of researching and finding an article on technology from any
reliable source. The article is summarized in 9 lines. The
article or a copy of it should accompany the summary. At the
beginning of class, the student should inform the teacher of the extra
credit who will arrange time for an oral presentation of the
9-line summary to the class. As the summary is only 9 lines, the
presentation is expected to be brief. The student should be
prepared to answer
student questions. One extra credit per
day can be done up to the grade cutoff date announced by the
teacher--usually one
week prior to the end of the quarter or semester. Classes are
reminded several times throughout the course of extra credit.
However, the student must exercise the initiative to accomplish it!
While students are completing
modules in the Technological Systems and Inventions & Innovations
classes, extra credit is also available with the module for those who
finish early. Students are responsible for asking the teacher what
extra credit activity is available
if they finish early.
