| Student Recognition
Program A progressive middle school program must address the social and pyschological needs of the students that it serves. In an effort to make certain the recognition of student success is a strong part of the academic and extracurricular program at Yorktown Middle School, we have developed a Student Recognition Program for the students. The Student Recognition Program provides recognition for special behaviors and accomplishments in an ongoing fashion through the usage of "Principal's Praise" recognition and other team and teacher activities including phone calls, agenda notes, and special comments. Quarterly, YMS recognizes the Most Outstanding and Most Improved students across grades and teams. Also quarterly, students are recognized for academic achievement through our various levels of Honor Roll. At the end of the school year students are recognized through the Eighth Grade Academic Honors Dessert Social, the Academic Awards Ceremony and a Spirit Assembly. |
