When testing water you have to go through a series of steps that will do it's part to clean the water. Water treatment has six steps for cleaning and purifying water. From Filtration, which is when you stick the dirty water through a filter and the filter gets out all the large sediments. To, Filtration again and this time the water goes through a cleaning process where it goes through rocks, sand, and charcoal and this gets out the remaining sediments. Water Treatment Model
| Here the manager is explaining what this machine is for; this machine scans to see how much debris is in the water. | |
| Here we are checking to see the level of alum that goes into the water that is checked. | |
| This is where the polymer and the ammonia in this room. The polymer is used to help make the alum more effective. The ammonia is mixed with chlorine to make chlorimines. Chlorimines are more effective, last longer and don't have bad by products. | |
| Here is where the clumps of the alum and polymer settle and fall to the bottom of the tank. Fish sometimes get stuck in this part and grow until people fish them out. | |
| Here we are looking at where the raw water is taken in from the reservoir and then goes through the water treatment process. | |
| Here is where the extremely fatal poison chlorine is stored; the whole room is built of sensors that scan the room to see if any leaks and if it does then they flush the whole room. | |
| This is a small module of what happens when you put polymer and alum into the water. With a light you can see the clumps that form in the tank. | |
| This is the control room of the treatment plant. This room has full control of the plant. It watches and runs the whole parameter of the plant. They can turn on and off all the pumps in the York County area. | |
| This is one of the pipes that suck the water into the treatment plant. These pipes are not like normal pipes they are about 12 feet tall and extra loud. | |
| This is where the water is flows from the reservoir to the treatment plant. | |
| This is an overview of where the chemicals that clean the water are stored. |
