Transportation
The Transportation Department plays a vital role in supporting student success by providing dependable, safe, and efficient rides for all eligible students.
From the first pickup to the final drop-off, every member of our team contributes to a safe, positive experience that helps students start their day ready to learn and return home safely.
YCSD offers free transportation to students who live within the county and outside designated walking zones.
Bus Routes and Stops
Transportation staff use annual student enrollment information to develop, update and revise bus routes to be the most efficient possible. All stop times are approximate and based on distance between stops. Actual arrival times can vary due to traffic, weather conditions, student needs, or new/adjusted stops.
Students should arrive at the bus stop between 10-15 minutes before their scheduled pick-up time.
Students should remain at the bus stop for at least 15 minutes past the scheduled pick-up time to allow for potential delays.
Walking distance to bus stops:
- Elementary School students: up to .25 mile
- Middle/High School student: up to .40 mile
- After-school activity buses (middle/high): up to 1 mile

School Bus Safety and Student Conduct Expectations
Riding the school bus is an extension of the school day. Students are expected to follow safety guidelines and model school behavior expectations at bus stops and while riding. School administrators address behavior concerns in accordance with the Student Handbook and Conduct Code to help ensure a safe and positive experience for all students.
