YCSD High Schools Rank Among Nation's Best

York County School Division high schools continue to earn national recognition for student achievement and college and career preparation. The 2026-27 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings place all four comprehensive YCSD high schools among the top 11% nationwide.

Among approximately 27,000 high schools evaluated, Tabb High School placed within the top 5% nationwide, while Grafton High School ranked within the top 7%. Bruton and York high schools also earned national rankings placing them within the top 11%.

Several schools also made gains in this year’s rankings. Bruton High School showed significant improvement at both the state and national levels. York River Academy also moved from a national ranking range to an individual national ranking.

U.S. News evaluates schools using several factors, including college readiness, state assessment performance and graduation rates. The rankings also consider how well schools serve students across different backgrounds.

This national recognition reflects the collective commitment of students, staff and families across YCSD. Through advanced coursework, career and technical education, specialty programs and other learning opportunities, students can explore their interests and prepare for their futures.
