School Board
The School Board is the governing body of the York County School Division, providing oversight and direction for the public school system. Responsibilities include policy making, budget approval, hiring and evaluation of the superintendent, and hearing appeals of discipline and grievance issues.
The board consists of five elected members, one from each of the county's election districts. Elections are held every four years, with the next election taking place in November 2027. Board members devote hundreds of hours annually attending meetings, participating in trainings, and engaging with families, students and staff at both school and community events.
