York High Student Receives President’s Award

Raymundo Rico Gomez, a York High School senior, has been honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a President's Volunteer Service Award. The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, was presented by the Prudential Spirit of the Community Awards program on behalf of President Obama. Rico participated in the Spirit of the Community program this year as a representative of York High School, and performed the majority of his service with the Special Olympics in the local area as a coach and mentor to program participants.
