Technosphere Competition Results

Tabb Middle School's Technology Student Association (TSA) club competed at "Technosphere" in Fairfax, Virginia. This is a statewide competition for students competing at both the high school and middle school level. The events are highly competitive, requiring both detailed paper work and application in events such as web page design, boat design and building, dragster design and building, flight, hovercraft, leadership, technology bowl, technical writing and drawing, prepared speech, and many more.
 
The following are eligible to move up to the national level competition this summer in Baltimore, Maryland: Nick Anselmo, 1st place Electrical Applications; Josh Findlay, 1st place Graphic Design; Bryan Moon, 2nd place Transportation Challenge; Sam Rice, 2nd place Multimedia Production; Ashley Barclift, 3rd place Dragster Design; and Logan Wright, 3rd place Electrical Applications.
 
The following students placed in the top 10 of their event: Todd M. Barns, 6th place team-Marine Design; Kevin G. Brown, 9th place team-video game design; Alec Bultman, 10th place team Web page design; Thomas Goulter, 9th place team video game design; Matthew Montgomery, 9th place team video game design; Julia N. Smith, 6th place team Marine Design; Molly P. Spruill, 9th place team Systems Control and 10th place team Web page design; Nathan A. Velazquez, 6th place team Marine Design and10th place team Web page design; and Lauren A. Wright, 9th place team Systems Control.
 
Also participating were Amanda Carroll in both Robot Challenge and Engineering Structure and Kayla Shay in Leadership Strategies, Video Design and Problem Solving.
