New Division Administrators Announcement

Three respected leaders in the York County School Division will have new roles in supporting student success next year! During a special meeting of the School Board today, members approved Dr. Shandor's recommendation to fill existing School Board Office positions, beginning July 1, 2025. Each of these individuals brings a proven record of service and a collective commitment to ensuring every student is a future ready graduate, prepared for personal success.

Dr. Shannon Butler will serve as Associate Director of Student Services - Secondary. As principal of York High School since 2015, Dr. Butler has fostered a culture of growth, engagement, and academic excellence.

Brian Fries has been named Associate Director of Student Services - Elementary. Currently the principal at Yorktown Middle School, Brian brings a wealth of K-12 experience and a strong focus on community and student support.

Dr. Kristin Bolam will take on the role of Associate Director of Elementary Instruction and Academic Programs. A dedicated educator and leader at Yorktown Elementary, Dr. Bolam has helped lead our magnet program with passion and innovation.

We congratulate Dr. Butler, Mr. Fries, and Dr. Bolam on their well-deserved new roles and thank the retiring leaders they will be succeeding for their dedicated service. The process to identify new school principals for YHS, YMS, and YES will begin immediately.
