Fifth Grade Celebration

Yorktown Elementary School (YES) fifth grade students were congratulated by their teachers and parents at the annual Fifth Grade Celebration. The day's activities kicked off with a grand parade around the school amid the cheers of the entire student body and faculty. Each fifth grade student received a certificate of achievement and enjoyed a special lunch with their parents. Students who were also recognized for outstanding academic achievement received Presidential Awards signed by President Obama. Additionally, each fifth grade teacher chose a student who exemplified good citizenship and perseverance through difficult situations.
