Mrs. Layne's sixth grade Exploratory Art classes at Grafton Middle School recently worked on a cool art project with a Science theme. Students were shown a variety of microscope images including bacteria, blood cells, and other micro-organisms. Students used line to show texture, pattern, and value (shades of black). Using black sharpie pens the students drew "freeform" or "organic shapes" that intersected. The students then filled each shaped with different line techniques and "germs" that they designed.
