BHS Safety Council Promotes Awareness

Posted On: Friday, November 05, 2010
The Bruton High School (BHS) Safety Council involves students, staff, and school leaders in building a foundation of school safety. The Safety Council uses school outreach, collaboration, student leadership, and positive prevention and intervention programs to further develop a safe school community. Through education and peer leadership, the Safety Council strives to foster a positive relationship between school groups, break-down stereotypes, and build resiliency among all students. The council will promote a new safety theme each month. The 2010-2011 school year themes are: November - K2 Spice Awareness; December - Drug Prevention; January - Suicide Prevention; February - Bullying Prevention; March - Driving Safety; April - Positive Relationships; and May - Sober Prom/Graduation. If you have questions about the Safety Council, please contact Vicky Corlett, BHS Principal, at 220-4050.
