Yorktown Middle School Hallway Dedicated To Former Student

Sherman Hill, Chairman of the York County Black History Celebration Committee and member of the Yorktown African American Cultural Society, was honored by Yorktown Middle School (YMS) on Friday, February 18 during the school's African American History Assembly. Candi Skinner, Yorktown Middle School Principal, presented Mr. Hill with a plaque that dedicates a hallway in his name to honor him for his dedication to education. The hallway is in an original wing of the building where Mr. Hill attended James Weldon Johnson School (now Yorktown Middle School) from 1967 to 1970 and graduated from York High School as the schools integrated in 1971.
