IB Middle Years Program Students at YMS Learn From Northrop Grumman Expert

Posted On: Thursday, March 24, 2011
Sixth grade students in the Yorktown Middle School (YMS) International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) had the unique opportunity to learn from Northrop Grumman Director of Strategy, Dexter Lilley, as he discussed his involvement with developing offshore wind farms. As part of Nancy Feigenbaum's spanish class, students were charged with acting as reporters to investigate Mr. Lilley's job, Northrop Grumman's partnership with Spanish engineers and the importance of wind energy to their future careers and lives. The partnership between Northrop Grumman and YMS began after viewing a recent article on the new wind farm technology in the Daily Press. The MYP students look forward to continuing this partnership and viewing the first prototype of this technology during the 2011-2012 school year.
