Tabb Elementary Celebrates China Day

Posted On: Friday, April 22, 2011
On China Day at Tabb Elementary School (TES), all the second grade students visit each of the second grade classrooms to learn about one aspect of Ancient China. The children experience a hands-on approach while gaining knowledge about China and its impact on us today. They come away with art projects such as Chinese Lanterns, Scrolls, New Year Dragons, Zodiac Hats and Giant Pandas. In addition to making a Giant Panda, the students also get to watch them live through web-cam feed from the National Zoo. The children's smiles as they parade from one class to the next dressed in red (for good luck), some in authentic Chinese silk kimonos, makes it worth the time and effort put into this very exciting day!
