The Grafton Bethel Elementary School’s Spell-a-thon raises funds by accepting monetary pledges through family sponsors for weekly spelling tests. All participating students receive a Wendy’s Frosty card and a principal’s homework pass. Classes are also treated to popcorn and snocone parties for each grade level that raises the most money. "This is very beneficial for the school and its faculty and students. It works well because it allows the student's friends and family to donate 100% to the school instead of a small percentage from an item they didn’t want anyway." says Tina Hoffman, this year's Spell-a-thon coordinator.
