Posted On: Friday, March 09, 2012
Yorktown Middle School (YMS) seventh grade history students of Laura Sanlorenzo’s, Paul Wright’s and Stephanie Powe’s history classes created thank you cards to support Honor Flight Historic Triangle Virginia's mission to bring WWII veterans to Washington, DC, with honor. WW II veterans received their cards during "Mail Call" as they visited the WW II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The students worked under the guidance of Earl Johnson, Sheila Smith, Jackie Hill and Uneque Gaines, who work for AmeriCorps Navigators under the Volunteer Center of the Virginia Peninsula.
