Posted On: Friday, April 13, 2012
Congressman Rob Wittman spent an hour with the York River Academy’s (YRA) government class on April 10th. During his visit with the students, Congressman Wittman discussed issues related to the budget deficit and some suggested solutions for the deficit. He also discussed the importance of the Chesapeake Bay. He then fielded questions from the students on the issues such as gas prices, the 2012 Primaries (he did not endorse a candidate), defense spending, his feelings on Super PAC’s and his views on the Affordable Health Care Act (“Obamacare”). He then described his typical day, his work on committees, and his own experience in public life. Erik Tremblay, government teacher, felt it was very gracious of him to come out to visit his small class at YRA.
