YCSD's Got Talent

A York County School Division student was recently honored through the National PTA Reflections contest. Christopher Spells, representing Queens Lake Middle School, earned an Award of Merit in the Dance Choreography category for his entry, The Unique differences of others. Through Reflections, PTA recognizes students for their artistic efforts at local, regional, state and national levels. The National PTA Reflections Awards include:
  • Outstanding Interpretation Awards: Presented to one student in each arts category and the Special Artist Division for best theme interpretation.
  • Awards of Excellence: Presented to the top three scores for each arts category in each grade division. In 2012, PTA recognized 72 students with Awards of Excellence.
  • Awards of Merit: Presented to the next five highest scores for each arts category in each division. In 2012, PTA recognized 116 students with Awards of Merit.
