Yorktown Elementary "Partners in Print" Orientation Workshop

The Reading Team at Yorktown Elementary Math Science Technology Magnet School sponsored a very successful “Partners in Print” Orientation Workshop on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 5:00 -7:00 pm. in the school cafeteria. Students, parents, and teachers shared an evening learning how a three way partnership helps children learn and develop to their full potential. Families were served dinner, enjoyed a special program, got to select 5 books as well as a book box to start a home library, and got to decorate a special reading bag to bring with them each time they return to a “Partners in Print” evening. Future workshops will be titled “Working with Words and Letters”, “The Reading and Writing Connection”, “Developing Fluency”, “Read In”, and “ Family Game Night”.
