Progress Monitoring, Grading & Report Cards
Student success involves families and schools working together. Throughout each school year, we provide multiple ways for families to stay informed about academic progress, celebrate growth, and support learning at home. Through regular communication, progress updates, and online tools, families can partner with teachers to help students stay on track and reach their goals.
Stay Connected Through Aspen and Canvas
Families have convenient access to information about their child's learning and school experience through Aspen, the division’s student information system (SIS) and Canvas, our learning management system (LMS).
Aspen Family Portal
Families can use Aspen to:
- View grades and attendance
- Access report cards and progress reports
- Review schedules and student information
- Complete required forms and annual updates
Canvas Learning Management System
Families can use Canvas to:
- Monitor assignments and due dates

Checking Aspen and Canvas regularly can help families stay connected to their child's learning and identify opportunities for support and encouragement throughout the school year.
Progress Reports and Report Cards
Kindergarten Through Grade 2
Students in kindergarten through second grade receive a standards-based report card that focuses on their progress toward grade-level learning expectations. Rather than traditional letter grades, families receive a more detailed picture of student learning and growth during the primary years.
Grades 3-12
Beginning in third grade, students receive traditional letter grades in core content areas. Interim Progress Reports are published in Aspen midway through each nine-week grading period with printed reports cards provided at the end of each quarter.
Grading Scale
| Letter Grade | Grading Scale |
|---|---|
| A | 90-100 |
| B | 80-89 |
| C | 70-79 |
| D | 64-69 |
| F | 0-63 |
Questions About Your Child's Progress?
Families are encouraged to contact their child's teacher whenever they have questions about grades, assignments, or academic progress. School counselors and administrators are also available to help connect families with additional support and resources when needed.
