Digital Learning Tools
Technology helps students learn, create, collaborate, and stay connected with their teachers and classmates. The YCSD Digital Toolkit includes the websites, apps, and online resources approved for use in our classrooms and learning environments to enhance learning both at school and, when needed, at home.
Below, you can explore the digital resources approved by YCSD, including their purpose, intended users, access information, and whether additional login credentials are required.
Single Sign-on
Rather than creating and managing separate logins for all of these services, YCSD uses Clever to allow simplified single sign-on (SSO) for many of these services.
In order to login to educational applications using Clever, do the following:
- Go to the YCSD Clever portal
- Click on the Log in with your YCSD credentials
- Use your YCSD account to log in
Once logged into Clever, you should be able to access educational software offerings by clicking on the large icons in the Clever portal.
Protecting Student Privacy
Protecting student information is a priority. Before a digital tool is approved for use, YCSD reviews its privacy and security practices to ensure it meets division requirements and applicable laws.
The division enters into Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) with educational technology providers to safeguard student information and ensure data is used only for educational purposes. These providers operate under strict privacy requirements and may only access student information necessary to provide their services to schools.
In some cases, students may need an account to access a digital learning tool. When required, limited student information such as a student's name, YCSD username, or YCSD email address may be shared with the provider so the account can be created.
Additional Digital Resources
Educational technology is constantly evolving, and teachers may identify new digital resources that support classroom learning. If a teacher would like to use a resource that has not already been approved through the division's review process, additional family permission may be requested before students use the tool.
