Ages 2-5

Early Childhood Special Education services are available for eligible children ages 2 through 5 who have been identified as having a disability and need specialized instruction to support their development and school readiness.

Ages 3 and 4

The Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) is a state and federally funded preschool program for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds. Guided by Virginia's Birth-to-Five Early Learning and Development Standards, students participate in engaging, play-based learning experiences that support language and literacy, early mathematics, science, social and emotional development, physical development, and kindergarten readiness. Transportation is available for enrolled students.

Ages 3-5

Head Start is a preschool program provided through the County of York for eligible children ages 3 through 5. In addition to preparing children for kindergarten, the program provides family support services and meals for enrolled students. Eligibility requirements apply.
