The Tests of General Educational Development (GED) are developed by the American Council on Education to enable persons who have not graduated from high school to demonstrate the attainment of abilities normally associated with completion of a high school program of study.
The GED Battery includes five tests. The tests focus on the major use of skills and concepts rather than upon recall of specific facts. The questions focus on the general abilities to analyze, evaluate, and draw conclusions. The subject areas of the tests are as follows:
You may pre-register online at www.GED123.org. This is one step; you still need to finish the registration process in person and pay for the test.
*Tests will be at the YCSD School Board Office from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. February 9 will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.Please arrive 15 minutes prior to time and sign in with the receptionist. Retests may be scheduled at other dates if needed.
GED Class Schedule - 2011-12All tests will start at 9:00 a.m. and are given at the LLLC on the York High School campus in the GED classroom. The full battery includes 5 content tests and can take up to 4 hours. Results will be given that day. This year the tests will be administered twice monthly with the exception of September, October, March and May. These pratice tests are free. For more information call 757-898-0469.
